Amirudin said he was not part of any decision regarding the cancellation, as he was visiting Germany at the time, Bernama reported.
“Maybe the party concerned (hall owner) made the decision (to return the deposit). I need to check,” he was quoted as saying.
“I did not get any calls from anyone. I only heard about the booking and cancellation later.”
Amirudin’s remarks came in response to a claim by Sanusi, the Perikatan Nasional election director, at a ceramah in Batang Kali last night.
Sanusi said the gathering was supposed to have been held in a hall owned by a Selangor government subsidiary, but had to be moved to a different venue after he was featured on posters promoting the event.
“Since the hall was booked by Kedahans and their posters featured me, the deposit was returned (to the organisers). Selangor is really terrible,” he was quoted as saying by MalaysiaGazette.
