Cops looking for 2 gunmen after failed robbery at goldsmith’s shop

Police are in pursuit of two armed men following an attempted robbery at a goldsmith’s shop in Machang yesterday.

Machang police chief Ahmad Shafiki Hussin said police received information at 2.20pm just after the suspects, who were armed with guns, fled the scene on a motorcycle without registration plates.

He said the men were clad in all-black attire, wearing jeans, caps, face masks and gloves.

“Despite attempts by the public to apprehend the duo, they managed to escape on the motorcycle,” he said in a statement.

Shafiki said there were four people inside the premises during the incident, including employees and family members of the complainant, but no injuries or losses were reported.
