Teenage siblings killed in hit-and-run on way to school

Police say a four-wheel drive vehicle turned right and collided with their motorcycle.

Two siblings died when their motorcycle was hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle at Km38.9 Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Kangsar here today.

Sungai Siput police chief Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said the two victims, aged 13 and 17, were on their way to SMK Simpang Beluru.

“The incident occurred at 7.12am when a four-wheel drive vehicle from the direction of Kuala Kangsar suddenly turned right towards Taman Desa Salak and collided with their motorcycle coming from the opposite direction,” he said.

The bodies were taken to Sungai Siput Hospital for a post-mortem.

He said police were tracking down the driver, who fled the scene and had not made a police report at the time of writing.
