On Saturday, FMT reported that three leaders of Islamic organisations in Malaysia had been placed on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist.
Ops Ihsan secretariat chairman Jismi Johari, who has been involved in channelling aid to Palestinians in Gaza, confirmed he had been notified of the watchlist by the foreign ministry in a letter dated Feb 15.
In the letter, a copy of which was leaked online, the ministry instructed Ops Ihsan to cease working with the three people on the list.
Jismi said the trio had minimal involvement in Ops Ihsan’s activities, although he was still gathering more details on the extent of their participation.
