Her lawyer Nabila Khairuddin said Syarul Ema, who is also known as Ratu Naga, was picked up by MACC officers after they raided her house at Jalan Klang Lama at around 9am.

Nabila said the reason for Syarul Ema’s arrest is not immediately known.

“I am on the way to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, The investigating officer told me that they would furnish further details once I meet them,” she told FMT.

Last October, the police investigated Syarul Ema for her social media posts on Instagram and TikTok that were deemed to have defamed the prime minister’s wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The former Wanita PKR leader was also previously investigated for her participation in the Selamatkan Malaysia anti-government rally on Sept 16.
