The meeting at Istana Negara comes after Sultan Ibrahim took his oath as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday.
The ceremony took place at the 264th special meeting of the Conference of Rulers in the throne room of Istana Negara.
Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak meanwhile was sworn in as the deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Sultan Ibrahim assumed the throne after the tenure of Pahang ruler Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah came to an end.
Sultan Ibrahim’s wife, Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, also assumed the throne as the Raja Permaisuri Agong.
Sultan Ibrahim previously said that he had a good relationship with Anwar, who “seeks my opinion and provides me with suggestions”.
Last year, he also said that Anwar should be given more time to improve the country’s economy.
He acknowledged the financial challenges faced by Anwar’s unity government, and expressed relief that the prime minister’s visit to China had resulted in several positive outcomes.
