KUALA LUMPUR:
There have been no new developments in the probe into the murder of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin last month, say police.

However, deputy inspector-general of police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said investigations were ongoing.

“We never stopped investigating this case. The police are still continuing with the probe, it is ongoing.

“If there are any developments, they will be shared. As of now, there are no new developments,” he told reporters at a press conference in Bukit Aman.

Zayn was reported missing at noon on Dec 5. He was found dead the next day near a stream about 200m from his home with injuries to the neck.

The case was reclassified from sudden death to murder after a post-mortem revealed injuries to the boy’s neck and body. Defensive wounds were also found on the boy.

The police have also sought the assistance from Interpol to aid in the investigation into the case.
