GUA MUSANG:
The fire and rescue department completed the delivery of 20.8 tonnes of food supplies to 56 villages in five Orang Asli settlements yesterday, after floods cut off access to the areas.

Air unit commander Amir Fitri Salim said good weather conditions facilitated timely deliveries to Pos Gob, Pos Bihai, Pos Balar, Pos Belatim and Pos Simpor from Monday.

He said 25 crew members successfully conducted 16 flights, assisted by the Gua Musang fire and rescue station and Civil Defence Force personnel.

“We flew to Pos Gob on the first day, and the final destination was Pos Simpor yesterday. Alhamdulillah, the weather was good. We encountered light rain briefly before flying to Kampung Halak and Kampung Rekom yesterday,” he told reporters here.

Amir Fitri said the department also conducted medevac flights to several villages.

The team will leave for the Subang Central Region Air Base in Selangor today.
