Myanmar man, 50, badly burned in warehouse fire

The fire destroyed about 80% of the warehouse and also damaged trucks, cars and motorcycles.

BUKIT MERTAJAM:
A 50-year-old Myanmar national was badly burnt when a warehouse storing hardware supplies in Permatang Pauh caught fire this morning.

The man sustained 70% burns on his limbs and was taken to hospital for treatment, a spokesman for the Penang fire and rescue department said. Another victim, a 30-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.

He said the fire destroyed about 80% of the warehouse, and damaged two trucks, three cars and two motorcycles. The fire was completely extinguished at 1.20pm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
