PETALING JAYA:
An argument between two men at a residence in Sungai Choh, Rawang, led to one of them being killed by the other, say the police.

Acting Gombak police chief Noor Ariffin Nasir said they received a report filed by a woman, said to be a neighbour, who claimed she had heard an argument from the house next door at around 11am yesterday.

The woman then claimed that she overheard another conversation at 5pm between her neighbour’s husband and brother-in-law asking for help to bury a dead body.

A preliminary investigation found the body of a local man buried in a hole at a thicket near the house. The body was then sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a post-mortem.

Police have arrested two local men, aged 29 and 33, and a local 32-year-old woman, who are suspected of being involved in the incident.

“The victim was the boyfriend to the sister of one of the suspects, who is still at large,” Ariffin said in a statement.

“A misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects was identified as the motive of this incident. Investigations, as well as efforts to track down a few more suspects involved in this incident are ongoing,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which is punishable by death.

Ariffin said the police’s preliminary investigation found that the three suspects who were arrested claimed not to have known the victim. He added the police were only told that the victim was having problems with his girlfriend.

He urged anyone with information on the case to contact investigating officer Puteri Noo Asiah Sharif at 012-671 8024 or the Gombak police at 03-6126 2242.
