KUALA LUMPUR:
Two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers pleaded not guilty in the sessions court today to charges of robbing a Chinese businessman two years ago.

Haffiz Radzi and Fahmee Nor are accused of committing gang robbery on Kun Gao on Dec 10, 2021 of RM952,690 and 1,225 yuan in cash, as well as a luggage bag and a Louis Vuitton bag at the businessman’s home in Jalan Ampang.

If found guilty, Haffiz and Fahmee each face a maximum jail term of up to 20 years and are liable to be caned.

Judge Izralizam Sanusi set bail for both at RM12,000 with one surety.

He also ordered Haffiz and Fahmee to report at the police station nearest to their home every month until the disposal of the case.

The passports of both officers were also impounded by the court under the terms of their bail.

The court set Feb 5, 2024 as the next mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Izalina Abdullah appeared for the prosecution while lawyers S Ravinchandran and R Vikraman appeared for Haffiz and Fahmee.

Meanwhile, a former MACC officer was charged in another sessions court with robbing the Chinese national at the same place.
