
Sim also said Ramasamy should not be quick to dismiss his ability to handle the ministerial role as it is still his first day on the job.
“Let the people judge me once we are in the ministry and once we start performing.
“We will let the public judge us,” he told reporters after clocking in for his first day of work as minister.
Sim, who was formerly a deputy finance minister, also stated his commitment to uplifting the dignity of workers in Malaysia, regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
Following the Cabinet reshuffle yesterday, Ramasamy had expressed doubts over Sim’s ability to effectively lead the human resources ministry, citing a lack of experience.
Sim was appointed as human resources minister to replace V Sivakumar, the sole minister dropped from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet.
