
Deputy public prosecutor Syajaratudur Abd Rahman, during case mention today at the High Court, informed Justice Azhar Abdul Hamid that she had instructions to withdraw the appeal.
Azhar then struck out the notice of appeal.
On May 5, sessions court judge MM Edwin Paramjothy said the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against Sanjeevan.
On June 5, 2020, Sanjeevan was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998 with knowingly initiating the transmission of false communications about the police with intent to annoy others on March 18 and May 16, 2020, using two Twitter accounts.
Lawyer Miguel Sequerah appeared for Sanjeevan, who is now the Bersatu associate wing information chief.
