Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said several steps must be taken before resubmitting the papers to the AGC, Berita Harian reported.
“These steps include technical reports from other agencies, including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and telecommunications companies,” he was quoted as saying.
Last Friday, Razarudin said the investigation paper into the video clip had been referred to the AGC.
J-Kom officer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jailani claimed on Nov 17 that he was pressured by a “Mr H” to record a video call with Agus. He said the video was then doctored and leaked online.
Subsequently, police recorded statements from several individuals, including Agus and another man said to be “Mr H”. Wahab later reportedly confirmed the identity of “Mr H”.
On Wahab’s allegations of being sexually harassed by Agus in Bintulu, Razarudin said another investigation paper had been opened under Section 354 and Section 377D of the Penal Code.
“The police will summon individuals who can contribute to the ongoing investigation,” he said.
Razarudin added that the decision to arrest Agus would depend on the outcome of the investigation.
“At this juncture, the police are still investigating to obtain material evidence supporting the statements and allegations made,” he said.
