Cops question senior govt official accused of sexual harassment

The head of a government agency accused of sexually harassing a woman has given his statement to the police.

FMT has learned that the man, in his 50s, spent at least an hour being questioned by the federal classified crime investigation unit here.

It is understood that the man arrived at the district police headquarters here with his lawyer around 2pm and left around 4.30pm.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain confirmed the matter and said three more witnesses would be called up by the police, Bernama reported.

The police launched an investigation after the alleged victim lodged a report last week.

The 31-year-old financial consultant claimed that the suspect had been sexually harassing her via WhatsApp since last year.
