PETALING JAYA:
A senior officer at a government agency who is accused of sexual harassment will have his statement taken tomorrow, the nation’s top cop said.

In a statement, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the officer’s statement would be recorded in Putrajaya at 2.30pm.

The police have so far recorded a statement from the complainant and will call more witnesses soon.

The woman, a financial consultant in her 30s, filed the report last week. She alleged that the suspect had harassed her on WhatsApp since last year.

A picture, purportedly of the woman’s report, went viral on social media yesterday.

The police had confirmed that the suspect is being investigated under Section 507A of the Penal Code for stalking and Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person.

He is also being probed under Section 292 of the Penal Code for possessing and distributing obscene videos and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting behaviour with intent to disturb the peace.
