PETALING JAYA:
Federal police have opened an investigation into a sexual harassment allegation involving the head of a government agency.

A financial consultant, in her 30s, filed the report last week, alleging that the suspect had been harassing her on WhatsApp since last year.

When contacted, Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Wan Azran confirmed that the woman had lodged the report.

“The investigation is being carried out by Bukit Aman,” he told FMT.

FMT has also reached out to the government agency implicated for comment.

This comes after a picture, purportedly of the woman’s report, went viral on social media this morning.

It is learnt that the suspect is being investigated under Section 507A of the Penal Code for stalking; Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person; Section 292 of the Penal Code for possessing and distributing obscene videos; and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting behaviour with intent to disturb the peace.
