Royal Pahang Durian Group, which owns a 1,000-acre durian farm in Raub, said the agreements included the setting up of a subsidiary to retail and distribute frozen durians in China, Bernama reported.
Another agreement would place the company’s durians on the JD.com online retail and e-commerce platform.
The company signed an agreement with Chyau Fwu Land Holdings Co Ltd of Parkview Group and they jointly signed a strategic framework cooperation agreement with JD.com.
Another agreement was signed with China’s SF Express to ensure systematic deliveries of durian produce in China, and a research collaboration agreement with Universiti Malaya to increase plant production.
“We are looking at the potential value of the durian market in China of RMB130 billion (approximately RM84 billion) by 2026,” said the company’s deputy chairman, Albert Chang.
He said the agreements would allow the company to build the reputation of Raub’s Musang King durians in China.
The company, based in Petaling Jaya, was set up in 2006 to cultivate durians in its plantation in Truas, Raub. Its chairman is Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan, eldest daughter of Pahang ruler Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
