3 in car held over man’s murder in JB

The driver of the car sped off towards Jalan Tun Dr Ismail before losing control of the vehicle and crashing it.

JOHOR BAHRU:
Police detained three men believed to have been involved in an early morning fight which resulted in the death of a local man in Jalan Trus early yesterday.

They were arrested a few hours later at 5.30am.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief Raub Selamat said the suspects were spotted behaving suspiciously in an Audi in the Jalan Tanjung Puteri area.

He said when police attempted to conduct an inspection, the driver of the car sped off towards Jalan Tun Dr Ismail before losing control of the vehicle and crashing it.

“We found two knives, two shirts, two pants and three handphones in the car,” Raub said in a statement today.

“A check on the suspects’ background found one of them had two drug-related cases. All three tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Earlier, police were tracking down eight suspects believed to be involved in the murder which occurred between 12.45am and 1.08am yesterday.

Sharp objects were used in the fight which resulted in the death of a local man.
