Businessman claims trial for alleged maid assault

KUALA LUMPUR:
A businessman has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his Indonesian maid last week.

Lee Chee Huat was charged in the magistrates’ court here today with causing hurt to Darsinih using the handle of a vacuum cleaner at an apartment in Kepong on Sept 22.

He faces a jail term of up to 10 years if found guilty.

Magistrate Atiqah Mohamed granted Lee bail of RM2,500 in one surety.

The court also fixed Nov 3 for mention.
