KUALA LUMPUR:
Pakatan Harapan’s Suhaizan Kaiat was sworn in as the Pulai MP today.

In the Sept 9 by-election, the Amanah man won the seat with a majority of 18,641 votes over Perikatan Nasional’s Zulkifli Jaafar and independent candidate Samsudin Fauzi.

The swearing-in took place in the presence of Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul and other MPs.

After securing victory, Bernama quoted Suhaizan as saying he had already received more than 30 requests for help from his constituents.

He said it would be a challenge to manage the requests, as they were approaching the end of the year, but pledged to serve all, regardless of their political inclinations.

The by-elections for the Pulai parliamentary seat and the Simpang Jeram state seat, which was won by PH’s Nazri Abdul Rahman, were called following the death of Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.
