In a statement, he claimed the move was an intimidation tactic aimed at frightening people protesting against the conditional discharge deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received in his graft case.
“Clearly, this government deserves to be called the ‘reformati government’ due to the hypocrisy against their ideals and principles,” he said.
The Gombak Setia assemblyman said he would give his statement at 11am tomorrow at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.
PN Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had previously announced that there would be a rally on Malaysia Day as part of its #SelamatkanMalaysia campaign, addressing the issues the government has failed to handle, including Zahid’s trial.
He said the rally would be held in front of the Sogo shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur at 2pm on Sept 16.
Earlier today, Fadhli had called on the government, during the 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review in the Dewan Rakyat, to “facilitate” the wing’s intention to organise the protest.
He assured that the protest would be conducted peacefully and in compliance with relevant laws.
