Mais chairman Abdul Aziz Yusof said the conclusion of the council’s investigation found that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) communications director only talked about current issues, and did not touch on anything political.

“He (Fahmi) was replying to questions related to the concert (Good Vibes Festival and the performance by The 1975) and the action taken to end the concert because it had violated agreed conditions.

“He did not mention politics in the mosque. Therefore, in my view (this issue) is settled. He came to pray, he looked for a nearby mosque or surau.

“As a minister, he should provide clear answers to the questions asked by the congregants,” he told the media after a Jalur Gemilang presentation here.

Last month, several photos of Fahmi were posted on social media, amid claims that he was campaigning politically in the main prayer hall of the Nurul Yaqin Mosque in Kampung Melayu Seri Kundang, Rawang.

Previously, the Sultan of Selangor had ordered that there should be no political speeches of any kind in mosques and suraus in the state.

Meanwhile, in another development, Aziz said the Selangor Zakat Board will assist the family of the late Sharipuddin Shaari, one of the victims of the plane crash on the Guthrie Expressway near Bandar Elmina, here recently.

He said the RM500 emergency assistance was given to the victim’s widow, Suriana Muda, a housewife, on Aug 21.

“The family has to support two children who are still in school, and there are some proposals for assistance to be delivered but we look at the eligibility first, including monthly financial assistance, rent, food and schooling,” he said.

A Beechcraft 390 business jet crashed near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam, on Aug 17, killing 10 people, including Pahang local government, housing, environment and green technology committee chairman Johari Harun.

The crash claimed the lives of six passengers and two crew members on board the business jet, plus a motorist and a motorcyclist on the Guthrie Highway.
