The Bersatu legal and constitution bureau deputy chairman said she was confident that Azmin’s reputation as the former Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman for three terms would give her an advantage over Pakatan Harapan candidate Kamri Kamarudin and Muda’s Melanie Ting.
Sasha claimed that the majority of voters she met were satisfied with Azmin’s performance, including when he was Selangor menteri besar from 2014 to 2018.
“Before the Selangor state assembly was dissolved, I accompanied Azmin while he was serving Bukit Antarabangsa, so the voters are familiar with me.
“I believe that those who are confident in Azmin’s leadership and his way of taking care of Bukit Antarabangsa will also support me,” she told FMT.
She also denied claims that Azmin was running for a “safe seat” Hulu Kelang due to his failure to defend the Gombak seat in GE15.
Sasha said, as a lawyer for 16 years, if elected, she will set up a legal aid centre in the constituency, particularly to assist women facing legal issues such as divorce, alimony, and child custody.
She said there was still a lack of awareness of the law among Bukit Antarabangsa constituents and many having cases in shariah courts are unrepresented.
She also hoped to be a mediator between the government and the residents of Bukit Antarabangsa, especially concerning issues involving local government authorities.
