Lawyer Hisyam Teh told reporters the deputy prime minister had a weekly Cabinet meeting to attend today.
“The court allowed (the hearing) for today to be taken off, and we will continue tomorrow,” he said.
Zahid’s former secretary, Rosiah Osman, will continue her testimony before Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
Zahid is standing trial on 47 charges of money laundering and CBT involving millions from Yayasan Akalbudi, and accepting bribes for various projects during his tenure as home minister.
Twelve of the charges are for CBT, eight for corruption and the remainder for money laundering.
In January and February, Zahid sent representations to the Attorney-General’s Chambers in connection with the charges.
However, the court heard yesterday that prosecutors were still considering the representations.
The defence then proceeded to call witnesses to testify.
