No Malaysians involved in NZ shooting

PETALING JAYA:
No Malaysians were involved in today’s deadly shooting in Auckland, New Zealand, says the foreign ministry.

It said the Malaysian high commission in Wellington was in contact with local authorities to obtain updates about the incident.

AFP reported that at least two people were killed and multiple people injured in a shooting at a construction site in New Zealand’s largest city. The 24-year-old shooter was also killed.

The incident came just hours ahead of the opening match of the ninth Women’s World Cup at Eden Park in Auckland later today.

Several streets were cordoned off, all ferry services into the city were cancelled while buses running through some areas of the city were detoured.
