Muafakat Nasional’s FB account hacked, says Annuar

The NGO's president says it will take legal action against the person responsible.

MN president Annuar Musa said every posting made on the page since yesterday was made by the hacker.
PETALING JAYA:
The Facebook account of the NGO Muafakat Nasional (MN) has been hacked, according to its president Annuar Musa.

The former Umno secretary-general added that every posting made on the page since yesterday was made by the hacker and not MN.

“Muafakat Nasional will take action based on existing laws and hopes that the authorities will assist in taking appropriate action,” Annuar said in a statement.

Annuar’s MN is a registered NGO, not to be confused with the former political alliance between Umno and PAS which was formed in September 2019.

After he was sacked by Umno last December, Annuar kick-started MN with the aim of fostering cooperation and unity among Muslims and “strengthening the political system, based on the Rukun Negara and Federal Constitution”.

Several prominent politicians have joined the NGO, including former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin, Bersatu’s Redzuan Yusof and ex-Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar.

Annuar is a PAS member now.
