The victim’s neighbour, Qhurun Ain Johani, 31, said she received a call from the children’s mother around noon after she realised that the teenager, the eldest of four, was choking his younger brother.
According to Sinar Harian, Qhurun said the children’s mother was alerted to the incident after checking the home’s CCTV footage through her phone.
She added that the victim had not gone to school as he was unwell, while his brother had been experiencing “health issues” the past few weeks.
“The teenager seemed unaware about what was going on. He continued to strangle his little brother until several other neighbours came to help,” she said.
Meanwhile, Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing.
