Imran Tamrin said he expected difficulties with BN’s election machinery if the coalition chooses to contest under the PH banner.
“Our cooperation was only established in November 2022, and (our) supporters and leadership at the grassroots level are not yet ready to accept the logo of a coalition other than BN … and I feel it’s the same for PH as well,” he was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
“But for me, whatever logo or symbol is used, we need to build our team spirit now and avoid clashing with one another. BN needs to help PH, and PH needs to help BN.”
He was commenting on the statement by PKR central leadership council member Elizabeth Wong on Monday that there was no issue with BN using PH’s logo in Selangor.
Previously, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN had yet to decide on letting its allies in the unity government use the coalition’s logo for the state election.
He also proposed for a logo to be created for the state election to represent the parties involved.
“That is better. There is already a proposal issued at the grassroots level for us to use a logo that combines the existing parties,” he said.
