Selangor MB to meet sultan in mid-June to dissolve assembly

The Selangor state assembly is set to dissolve automatically on June 25.

Amirudin Shari says he will meet the Sultan of Selangor before the state assembly automatically dissolves.
SHAH ALAM:
Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari expects to meet the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, in the third week of June to request for the dissolution of the state assembly.

The Selangor state assembly is set to dissolve automatically on June 25.

“Before (June 25), I will present my request for the state assembly to be dissolved. (I will meet the sultan) in the third or fourth week of June.

“It may even be in the second week (of June),” he told reporters after a Hari Raya open house event here.

Sultan Sharafuddin is scheduled to perform the haj next month.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) were still in negotiations for about seven seats in the state.

“So far, discussions between PH and BN at the state level have been progressing and we have submitted a report to the central (PH) leadership, where discussions on the seat distribution will also begin.

“All parties have listed the constituencies they want (to contest in) and the areas we want to retain,” the Selangor PH chief said.
