PETALING JAYA:
An Umno Supreme Council member hopes that former prime minister Najib Razak, currently serving time for graft, will be able to attend the wedding of his youngest son.

Puad Zarkashi said the engagement ceremony of Ashman to Nikola Mulyadi felt “incomplete” without Najib’s presence.

However, Puad said the affair was still a lively one, with the likes of Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Pahang menteri besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail among the guests.

Puad said Ashman was seated next to him and was excited because he and his fiancee were going to visit Najib in Kajang.

“Let us pray that Ashman and Nikola’s solemnisation and wedding will be attended by Bossku,” he said on Facebook, referring to Najib by his nickname.

Najib is serving a 12-year jail term on charges of abuse of power, criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving RM42 million of funds belonging to SRC International.

He is currently seeking a royal pardon. The Pardons Board has yet to discuss his application.
