PETALING JAYA:
A three-year-old boy from the Palau tribe was found dead in Kampung Panji in Lahad Datu yesterday with injuries to his head, both hands and left leg.

His hands were found tied and his head stuck between two trees, Bernama reported.

Lahad Datu deputy district police chief Azmir Abdul Razak said the boy’s mother made the discovery at 3pm after three hours of searching for the child who had gone out to play.

“The victim is believed to have been injured with a sharp object,” he said in a statement.

Azmir said a foreign man in his 30s was arrested to assist in the murder investigation.

“The suspect was the last person seen with the victim.

“Further checks also found the suspect positive for drugs and he is also believed to be mentally unstable,” he said.

The victim’s parents, who are foreigners, were also detained.
