Home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said police had opened three investigation papers into the matter, but classified the case as “NFA” as the threat was made on a fake account.
“It makes it difficult for police to produce evidence,” he said in reply to Gobind Singh Deo (PH-Damansara) who wanted an update on the probe.
While Saifuddin did not get into the specifics, police arrested a 30-year-old man in Puchong for issuing the threat in August last year.
The case was investigated for sedition, criminal intimidation and improper use of network facilities.
It was reported that the threat was made after Tengku Maimun refused to give former prime minister Najib Razak’s lawyers more time to prepare for his final appeal hearing at the Federal Court.
In January this year, Tengku Maimun revealed that she had received death threats when presiding over cases involving certain personalities.
