PETALING JAYA:
A comment by a Kedah FC football fan on Facebook has come under severe criticism as he suggested “raping” the wife of the referee who officiated a match involving his team.

The comment was posted on a Kedah FC fan page after the Malaysian Super League match last night, in which the team lost 1-0 to Police FC.

Kedah FC supporters’ anger was aimed at the referee after he sent off a Kedah player in the 60th minute, and later red-carded the coach as well.

The post has since been deleted, but several Facebook users managed to take screenshots of the comment and slammed the Kedah FC fan for his outrageous post. They also urged the police to act against him.

“What kind of a dirty comment is this?” user Are-Lan K-car said before urging the referee to file a police report.

Another Facebook user, Anuar Zainal Abidin said: “(How) embarrassing. Rape threats are no joke.”

Meanwhile, users Icezarre Mansor and Mat Frenciouss called for the police, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the Football Association of Malaysia to take action against the Kedah FC fan in question.

“Let’s put this guy in the lockup (for making rape comments) on another man’s wife just because of (a) football (match). Hope the police give him a heavy punishment,’ said Mat Frenciouss.

FMT has reached out to Kedah police for comment.
