PETALING JAYA:
Police have detained three men and a woman who were behind the carjacking of a RM270,000 Honda Civic Type R after one of them took it out for a test drive.

Ampang Jaya police chief Farouk Eshak said the incident happened on Feb 15 when a sales assistant at a car sales centre in Ampang was approached by two people who came in a Perodua Myvi.

“One suspect was wearing a policeman’s uniform and requested a test drive of a black Honda Civic FK8 Type R.

He drove the car with the sales assistant in the front passenger seat.

“Upon reaching a petrol station in Pandan Jaya, the suspect asked the salesman to purchase a reload card. Once the saleman alighted to buy the reload card, the suspect drove the car away,” Farouk told Bernama.

Following a report, police traced the stolen car and seized the Myvi car used during the incident. A police uniform was also seized.

Four suspects, including a woman, were detained during a series of raids in Selayang, Selangor, as well as Alor Setar and Jitra in Kedah last Sunday.

All the four suspects are Malaysians, aged between 30 and 40. One of them is a workshop assistant, another a hawker while the other two are jobless.
