KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang Umno chief Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Umno supreme council member Zamry Abdul Kadir have confirmed they will contest for a post as Umno vice-president.
Wanita Umno leader Noraini Ahmad has confirmed she will defend her position.
They made their announcements today in online postings.
Two incumbent vice-presidents, Mahdzir Khalid and Khaled Nordin, have said they will seek re-election, while Ismail Sabri Yaakob has yet to confirm if he will contest.
Noraini, who is Parit Sulong MP, is expected to be challenged by former Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Elections for positions in the party’s Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings will be held on March 11, while contests for the divisional committee posts, vice presidency and Supreme Council will be held on March 18.
