PETALING JAYA: Wanita Umno chief Noraini Ahmad will be defending her post in the upcoming party elections.
The Parit Sulong MP filed her candidacy papers at the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Noraini will be defending the post against Shahrizat Jalil, who announced her candidacy last week.
Shahrizat is making a comeback for the post which she held from 2009 to 2018.
Wanita Umno vice-president Norliza Abdul Rahim is also expected to run for the post.
Nominations for the Umno elections started on Feb 13 and will continue until Sunday.
The elections for Wanita, Youth and Puteri posts will be held on March 11. Division officials and members of the Supreme Council will be elected on March 18.
