Trees fall on cars in heavy rain, 2 people hurt

One of the drivers was found to have breathing difficulties and was sent to hospital.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Two people were injured when uprooted trees fell on three cars following heavy rain here this evening.

In Taman Pagar Ruyung at Kuchai Lama, a tree fell on a Perodua Aruz and a Toyota Vios at about 5pm.

The man driving the Aruz sustained minor injuries and had difficulty breathing. He was taken to hospital. His two children and the other driver were unhurt and were saved by members of the public, said the Seputeh fire and rescue services department.

A tree also fell on a Proton Exora driven by a woman near Masjid Negara at 5pm. Firemen from the Hang Tuah station freed the woman, who was stuck in the driver’s seat.

The woman, aged 48, suffered only minor injuries and was sent to hospital.
