No warning, no show cause, I was unilaterally sacked, says KJ

In an Instagram post, the former Umno Youth chief confirms reports that he was neither warned nor called up by the disciplinary board for a hearing.

Khairy Jamaluddin said he was sacked in an improper manner from the party he had been loyal to for 23 years.
PETALING JAYA:
Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin revealed that the party’s decision to sack him was not done in a proper manner.

According to Khairy, he did not receive any show cause letter. Neither was he summoned by the Umno disciplinary board for any hearing.

“Confirmed no due process. No show cause letter, no disciplinary hearing. Summarily and unilaterally sacked from a party I have been loyal to for 23 years,” he posted on his Instagram story.

Khairy and former Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar were sacked last night for breaching party discipline during the 15th general election.

The party also suspended its former vice-president and Sembrong MP Hishammuddin Hussein, former information chief Shahril Hamdan, Tebrau Umno division leader Maulizan Bujang and former Jempol MP Salim Sharif for six years.

Five Umno members from Pasir Gudang, nine from Putrajaya, two from Tanjong Karang and 26 from Pahang were also sacked.

Earlier, Shahril also revealed that he had not received any letter from the disciplinary board. “I don’t even know what reasons they used to take this action against me.” he said.

Khairy, in another Instagram post, appeared resolute despite his sacking from the party.

In a brief posting, Khairy urged Hishammuddin, to “chin up”.

“This is far from over,” the former Rembau MP declared.
