The 34-year-old from Kuala Krai, Kelantan, used to be a member of the police special actions unit (UTK), a contingent that requires going through gruelling mental and physical tests.
Having worked as a cashier at a KL shopping mall previously, Ameyza told FMT she joined the unit in 2014 where she trained to become a personal bodyguard.
Her goal in joining the elite police unit had been to provide for herself and improve her family’s standard of living. But she later learned firsthand just how tough it was to join – and train – as a member of the UTK.

Her first application to be a trainee had been rejected in 2007, but she was finally accepted in her second attempt five years later.
“The training is tough for women, both mentally and physically. It is the same for both men and women. It’s just that some women are weaker, so there are some tasks we cannot do.
“At the time, there weren’t many (women trainees), maybe just about 10. I’m not sure how it’s like now since I’ve left the force,” said Ameyza, who is presently a personal bodyguard for a businessman.

The former athlete said her full-time job essentially meant that she had “no life”, adding that it was probably why she was single and did not plan on settling down any time soon.
However, she did not rule out marriage some day if her potential spouse was able to understand and cope with the nature of her job.

Ameyza enjoys modelling when she can find the time and has garnered more than 300,000 followers on TikTok and more than 54,000 on Instagram.
Thanks to her hard work, she can care for her family and recently paid for her parents’ umrah.
