A source told Harian Metro that the 16-year-old girl had lodged the report three days after the alleged sexual assault by the suspect, who is in his 30s, at his office.

According to the daily, the victim had been called in by the inspector to assist in a probe into a separate rape case that involved the former and her stepfather.

“When she was in the room, the inspector, who is also the investigating officer, told the teenager that he wanted to conduct a check on her private parts.”

The source said the inspector told the girl to strip and lie down on a bed in the room. The officer later raped the victim. “(The victim) was afraid but could not do anything.”

After 30 minutes, the source said, the girl was told to dress and that the probe into the case involving her stepfather had still not been completed.

The victim, who was a school dropout, then lodged a report on Saturday and gave her statement at the IPD before undergoing a check-up at a hospital.

“A forensics unit which conducted investigations at the scene of the incident also found several traces of what is believed to be semen on the bedsheet and pillowcase.”

Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani confirmed the teen’s report and the inspector’s arrest when contacted, but refused to elaborate since investigations were ongoing.
