Police say a man had already been charged with making the comments on April 1.

Federal police secretary Noorsiah Saaduddin warned the public against spreading such comments as they could threaten public order and racial harmony.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The screenshot of a racist comment from Facebook account owner Nazrul Nazari that went viral on social media yesterday is old and it is circulating again, said federal police secretary Noorsiah Saaduddin.

She said a 33-year-old man had been arrested and charged under Section 182 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 33 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, last April 1 for making those comments.

Police found that the comments had gone viral again yesterday on various social media, including Facebook and WhatsApp, she said in a statement.

Noorsiah advised the public not to circulate such comments in a provocative manner because it could threaten public order and racial harmony.

Action would be taken against anyone who deliberately caused public mischief through issues that touched on religious and racial sensitivities, she added.
