KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister’s Department today clarified that the news making the rounds on social media titled “Ismail Sabri Dilantik Pengerusi Petronas” (Ismail Sabri appointed Petronas chairman) is false.
It reminded the public not to spread or share any unverified information.
In a Facebook post, it also urged the public to refer to its official social media accounts for verified news.
These are namely: Jabatan Perdana Menteri on Facebook; Twitter @jpmgov; Instagram @jabatanperdanamenteri and TikTok @jpmgov.
Earlier, a poster went viral on social media showing a picture of the meeting between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Ismail, who is former prime minister, with some information claiming that Anwar had in principle agreed to the appointment of Ismail as Petronas chairman.
