PETALING JAYA: An Umno MP will be appointed the deputy prime minister, says a source in the know.
“Tok Mat is the front-runner for the post, but let’s wait for Anwar’s announcement,” said the source, who declined to be named.
He was referring to Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan and Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim, who will be the new prime minister.
Earlier, Istana Negara said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has consented to the appointment of Anwar as the nation’s 10th prime minister.
