KUCHING:
Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) Nancy Shukri has appealed to Santubong voters to back her in Saturday’s general election (GE15).

“We need to work together to ensure the development of this area,” said Nancy while campaigning in Tanjung Embang.

The tourism, arts and culture minister said she worked closely with the local community in her former constituency of Batang Sadong to develop the area while serving as its MP for 15 years.

This included the construction of the Batang Sadong bridge, which Nancy said was a “game-changer” for the constituency.

If elected in Santubong, Nancy said she would continue with this inclusive approach.

“We will involve assemblymen in discussions on federal and state allocations to make full use of funds for our area,” she said, adding she did not want any funds for the people to go to waste.

“Cooperation between leaders and the grassroots is also important so that we can deliver on development.”

Nancy, who spent time with villagers in the area, thanked them for their support for GPS.

“It motivates us to double our efforts,” she said.
