PETALING JAYA:
Saifuddin Abdullah is facing a four-cornered contest to defend his Indera Mahkota parliamentary seat in the general election (GE15).

Utusan Malaysia reported that the Pahang Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman will face Quek Tai Seong of Barisan Nasional (BN), Zuraifi Ismail of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Dr Mohamad Nor Sundari of Pejuang.

Saifuddin, who is foreign minister, won the Indera Mahkota seat on a PH ticket in GE14. He defeated BN’s Johan Mat Sah by a majority of 10,950 votes.

There are two state seats under the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency, Beserah and Semambu.

Pahang PN vice-chairman Andansura Rabu, who won the Beserah seat in GE14, will defend the seat against four other candidates, namely Mustaffar Kamal Hamid (BN), Zulkifli Mohamed (PH), Fauzi Taib (Pejuang), and Joseph Yang, an independent.

Meanwhile, the Semambu state seat, which was previously held by PKR’s Lee Chean Chung, will see a four-cornered clash.

The candidates are Chan Chun Kuang (PH), Khairul Hisham Omar (BN), Zulfadhli Zakariah (PN) and Rashidah Abdul Rahman (Pejuang).

Lee is now the PH candidate for the Petaling Jaya parliamentary seat in Selangor.
