
Incoming president Ewon Benedick will contest for the Penampang seat while Youth wing chief Felix Joseph Saang will vie for the Beluran seat.
Deputy secretary-general Peter Jr Naintin and deputy information chief Rowindy Lawrence will contest for the Libaran and Kimanis seats, respectively.
Tangau won the Tuaran seat with a 7,624 vote majority under a Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket in the last general election (GE14) in 2018.
He is expected to face stiff competition from BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) candidates this time around.
Ewon, who is Kadamaian assemblyman, is expected to face Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking for the Penampang seat. Leiking is a two-term Penampang MP having won with a 23,473 vote majority in GE14, beating Upko’s Caesar Mandela Malakun and two others.
Saang will be standing in Beluran for the first time having contested the Telupid seat in the 2020 Sabah state polls, where he came second to the candidate from Parti Bersatu Sabah.
Upko joined Pakatan Harapan (PH) in August 2021.
