JOHOR BAHRU:
Johor MCA will contest eight parliamentary seats and MIC one seat in the coming general election, the same number of seats contested in 2018, said Johor Barisan Nasional chairman Hasni Mohammad.

He said Umno would contest the Simpang Renggam parliamentary seat left by Gerakan, bringing the number of seats to be contested by Johor Umno to 17 compared with 16 in GE14.

The Johor BN election director also said that the component parties under the coalition would not swap seats among themselves. “Seat distribution is not an issue in Johor,” Hasni told reporters.
