GEORGE TOWN:
Two Penang DAP representatives lodged a police report against former Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman over his allegedly racist remarks towards party chairman Lim Guan Eng.

Seri Delima assemblyman Syerleena Abdul Rashid, who was among the two to lodge the report, said that she wanted the police to investigate Tajuddin because his statement during a forum several weeks ago was racially insensitive.

“The former Pasir Salak MP made several false statements and allegations during that interview.

“He also made racist remarks that caused a public outcry,” she told reporters after lodging the report.

She was accompanied by former Jelutong MP RSN Rayer.

Timur Laut police chief Soffian Santong confirmed that two DAP representatives made a police report on the matter, but declined to comment further.

In the forum organised by the media outlet, Tajuddin claimed that Lim had sidelined the Malays when he was the finance minister, alleging that he had also “transformed” the ministry into a Chinese temple.

Earlier this week, Lim said he would be suing Tajuddin for defamation, claiming that anyone who had visited his office when he was finance minister would know Tajuddin’s claim was not true.
