Ahmad said there was an agreement between the two parties for the seat to be allocated to Amanah.
DAP had named Badrul Hisham Badarudin as its candidate.
However, Ahmad said Changkat Jong had been allocated to Amanah based on an agreement on a ratio of 2 DAP-reserved seats to 1 Amanah-reserved seat.
He said Muhaimin Sulam had been named as the Amanah candidate.
“The Pasir Bedamar state seat and the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat are both contested by DAP candidates,” he said. “So Changkat Jong is for Amanah.”
In the 2018 general election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) assigned Changkat Jong to Bersatu whose candidate ended up losing narrowly by just 67 votes.
He said there should not be any ‘wrestling’ over Changkat Jong and it should be respected by all component parties of PH.
